오늘은 earlier / later 를 사용하여  특정 시간의 양을 나타내지 않는 방식으로 아까, 이따가, 얼마전에, 나중에 라는 뜻으로 쓸수 있는 표현을 알아 보는 시간이다. 영어에는 우리가 일상 생활에서 흔히 사용하는 '아까' 라는 정확한 단어는 없지만, earlier를 가지고 '아까' 라는 의미로 표현할 수 있다. 

 

 

 

1. earlier 아까

(어제를 말하지 않는다/오늘 중에 있었던 때 / 시간의 양 표현이 아니다/영어에서 정확히 '아까'라는 단어는 없다)

I spoke with him on the phone earlier. 나 아까 걔랑 통화했어. (특정 시간이 양이 아닐때 사용)

I spoke with him on the phone a couple of hours ago. 나 몇시간 전에 걔랑 통화했어. (특정 시간의 양을 나타낼때 사용)

I spoke with him on the phone earlier today.  나는 오늘 아까 걔랑 통화 했다. 

I spoke with him on the phone earlier this morning. 나는 아까 아침에 걔랑 통화 했다. (지금 현재가 오전이여도 사용할수있다.)
I spoke with him on the phone earlier this afternoon. 나는 아까 오후에 걔랑 통화 했다.

I spoke with him on the phone earlier this evening. 나는 아까 저녁에 걔랑 통화 했다.

 

 

※ 우리가 흔히 알고 사용하는 ago  <시간의 양만큼> ~전에

   several hours ago 몇시간 전에

   a couple of hours ago 몇시간 전에

   several minutes ago 몇분 전에
   a few minutes ago 몇분전에

 

 

 

2. earlier this week   얼마전에 ( 얼마전이긴 한데 이번주를 넘지 않은 얼마전에)

    earlier this month (이번달 안에) 얼마전에  
    earlier this year (올해 안에) 얼마전에 

 

※ a while ago 도 '얼마전에' 라는 뜻으로 사용 가능하다.

 

3. later + @  이따가 (내일로 넘어가지 않는다) 
  

   later today  오늘 안에 이따가

   later this morning  오늘 아침 안에 이따가 

   later this afternoon  오늘 오후 안에 이따가

   later evening  오늘 저녁 안에 이따가

 

※ ※ in / from now < 시간의 양만큼> ~ 후에/뒤에

   in several hours 몇시간 안에
   several hours from now 몇시간 뒤에
   an hour from now 지금부터 한시간 안에
   in 2 hours 2시간 안에

 

4. later this week.  이번주 안에 나중에

   later this month 이번달 안에 나중에 

 

※ a while later 나중에 / sometime later 나중에 언젠가는
